To our Glenwood Families:
Hard to imagine that our kids have finally started their school year, such as it is. We know how hard the teachers and staff are working to navigate their own learning curves in these new abnormal times, how much thought and effort you’ve put into “home learning environments”, and how much trepidation everyone is feeling.
We made it through a very tough spring, a truly bizarre summer, and Labor Day. We’ve made it six whole months. And it’s entirely possible – likely, even – that tough months lay ahead as well.
The Glenwood PTO took a “lay low” approach this past spring, as everyone worked to figure out how their families might navigate the anxiety, stressors, fears, and losses of this pandemic. Certainly, it cut into our “regular” fundraising totals (a lot!)….but of course, we had little to fundraise for. Now it appears we head into a year where the needs are still there, but they are, unsurprisingly, very different needs.
We have thought of you all during this time, students, families, and staff alike, particularly those who have been personally affected by covid-19. Our goal this year is to help to keep the school community knit together as best as we can, and still offer supportive programming. To assist our teachers through this (how many of us have grown to hate this word) unprecedented time in education. To plan for the future, and for getting back to yes, normal.
Want to be involved?  The next Zoom PTO meeting is in just a few weeks, but you don’t have to wait for that. Send us a message with your ideas, offers, questions, and yes, even your constructive and gentle suggestions.
